Floor-standing boiler swapped for a combi in Solihull

The job

A homeowner in Solihull got in touch after finding us on Google. Their large floor-standing Worcester Bosch boiler had been condemned and was beyond economic repair, so they needed a replacement. The job was to remove the old boiler, amend the pipework and fit a new boiler in its place.

What we did

Rather than replace like for like, we recommended moving from the floor-standing boiler to a wall-hung combi boiler fitted in a cupboard. With two showers in the property, we also recommended fitting an electric shower. We removed the old boiler, amended the pipework and fitted a Baxi 835 combi, along with a magnetic filter and a wireless thermostat. The electric shower went in as part of the same visit, so the customer got the full boiler swap in Solihull and the new shower without a second trip.

Challenges

The main challenge was a massive cupboard standing right where the new boiler needed to go. It had to come out before the new combi could be fitted, and the team got it done without holding up the rest of the job.

The result

The whole job, from stripping out the condemned boiler to fitting the new combi and electric shower, was completed in one day. The customer now has a compact wall-hung combi boiler in place of the old floor-standing unit, with a magnetic filter protecting the system and a wireless thermostat for easy control. It is a boiler replacement in Solihull that we were proud to turn around so quickly.
